Poppies!

So, since I got my awesome sewing machine from my AMAZING dad for Christmas, I kind of neglected my good ol' crochet hooks. So when Utah finally decided to be cold for like a week this winter I thought I'd whip up some ear warmers! It was really fun, and I made several of them. They were the first things I ever sold! :) So that was exciting. Here's my favorite one:

I've been really into Poppies lately, so I thought I'd make them warm my ears! Blake surprised me with some very pretty navy-ish soft yarn one day, and I thought it would be perfect for an ear warmer. I actually got a little fancy with the stitching and used some bubble stitches...I just love the way they look textured with regular double crochet. And I kind of just experimented with the flowers...they're all pretty random but I think they're adorable :) I like how they're kind of three-dimensional; they don't just lay on the background.
It's warm, and it's cute. (Shhh..don't tell...but I like to wear it on those days when I just don't feel like messing with my hair!)
